Law enforcement in Prentiss County arrest three people from Baldwyn in connection with a burglary west of town. Sheriff Randy Tolar identfies the suspects as 45-year-old Derrick Barnett, 24-year-old Channing Price and 21-year-old Charvze Dearmon. They are charged with burglary of a dwelling and grand larceny.  

A man in Prentiss County is arrested on a drug charge, and the drug involved in this case is crystal methamphetamine. The suspect is 37-year-old Phillip Todd Micheal. Officers searched Micheal's home on County Road 7461 in the Blackland community Friday.  

An investigation into an arson at Bay Springs Lake leads to an arrest on drug and stolen property charges. Mitchell Wayne Huddleston of Booneville is charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of stolen property. Authorities say they found the burned out remains of the Prentiss County sheriff's mobile command trailer.  

On Sunday August 9th at 9:45 PM the UCUSR Dive Team was called to respond to a request for assistance in Prentiss County. Sheriff Randy Tolar of Prentiss County said that teams had been searching for a 47 year old man described as mentally challenged who wandered away from home in a remote location. After Prentiss County Search and Rescue teams, family members and the Sheriff's office located bare footprints near a pond the decision was made to search that pond in the event of a drowning.  

A 47-year-old mentally challenged Booneville man who wandered away from his home Sunday was found Monday night two miles away, dehydrated but otherwise safe, Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar said. Lewis Daniel Thompson walked away from his home around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, deputies said.

A Prentiss County man who had been missing from his home since Sunday morning was found safe by searchers Monday evening, said Sheriff Randy Tolar. Lewis Daniel Thompson, 47, described as mentally challenged, was located before 7 p.m. Monday on a field road just off C.R. 5312, about two miles from the County Road 5051 residence where he lived, the sheriff said.

Prentiss County authorities continue the search today for a man reported missing Sunday morning. . Sheriff Randy Tolar says 47 year old Lewis Daniel Thompson is mentally challenged. This morning, authorities found evidence he may still be on the move in the area off of Prentiss County Road 5051.  

Nine people have been indicted in an undercover crystal methamphetamine manufacturing investigation in Prentiss County, Sheriff Randy Tolar says. The following suspects were indicted by the Prentiss County Grand Jury for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine: Jeffery Lee Bridges, 35, of Booneville, Bond $5,000; Monica Lynn White, 25, Baldwyn, Bond $5,000; David Samuel Floyd, 22, Baldwyn, Bond $10,000; Nicole Marie Greenhill, 27, Baldwyn, Bond $5,000; Sara Elizabeth Storey, 18, Booneville, Bond $5,000

These men have done an outstanding job and we hope that these indictment send a clear message to those involved in the manufacture of this terrible drug, regardless of how minor their roles are, that the likelihood of getting caught making meth in Prentiss County has been elevated to a higher level   -Randy Tolar
